You'll find the New Combo a commercial vehicle without compromise. It'll have the biggest payload in its class - a huge 3.4cu.m for the standard wheelbase version - plus one of the longest and most spacious load areas. The low, rear-loading height (54.5cm) will mean there's less chance of straining your back while working, too.
Two lengths (4.39m and 4.74m) combined with two heights (1.85m and 2.10m) will mean exceptional loading possibilities. With the short wheelbase design, the load volume is 3,400 litres. The long wheelbase model will pack in 4,200 litres. Load lengths can be up to 1.82m in the short wheelbase and 2.17m in the long wheelbase, both with a load width of 1.71m.
The doors themselves are asymmetrical, allowing easier loading and unloading in confined spaces. Wide-opening sliding side doors will make things easier to load and give you convenient access to cargo. You'll be able to choose an upward-opening flap in the roof of New Combo short wheelbase, standard roof models, to help you securely carry longer loads like ladders and pipes. And you'll also be able to fit carrier bars under the roof so that you can fix a foldable ladder out of the way of your other gear.
You'll be able to select from five powerful yet efficient Euro 5 compliant turbo-diesel engines, all designed for optimum ease of serviceability and low running costs. The range comprises 1.3CDTi 16v 90PS, 1.3CDTi 16v 90PS Start/Stop, 1.6CDTi 16v 105PS Start/Stop and 2.0CDTi 16v 135PS Start/Stop units.
There's also a 1.6CDTi 16v 90PS option complete with Start/Stop and Tecshift transmission. Start/Stop switches the engine off when you stop at the lights or in traffic, then restarts it once the clutch is depressed, cutting fuel bills and reducing emissions. We'll be providing a choice of ecoFLEX models too, and you can also look forward to long service intervals (up to 21,000 miles or one year) and class-leading fuel consumption for the 1.3CDTi 16v 90PS engine.
On the outside, the steeply raked deep windscreen and low bonnet line are designed to give exceptional visibility. Generous, panoramic wing-mirrors with integrated indicator-repeaters provide outstanding rear vision. The clear-glass wrap-around headlight clusters are functional and efficient, the rear light clusters are high mounted to avoid damage, and the optional front fog lights are protectively recessed.
Of course, you won't notice one of New Combo's most impressive features until you actually get in and drive the vehicle. The innovative bi-link independent rear suspension we've used offers such superb ride comfort that you'll get the best possible ride quality and handling - even when you're hauling heavy loads.
We've also prioritised driver comfort and convenience inside New Combo. The stylish dashboard is functional and uncluttered, you'll be able to adjust the steering wheel for rake and reach and all of the minor controls are intuitively designed and within easy reach. The front seats are deeply contoured for your extra comfort on those long days, and there are generous heating and ventilation outlets. Overall, we've used extra-durable materials to create a driver's cabin that is ergonomic, robust and hard-wearing.
In terms of convenience and storage, New Combo will lead the field with spacious door pockets, dashboard storage and a lockable glove box. The Sportive model will also feature an overhead storage shelf in the cabin. Standard seat trim will be Cube Black cloth or you'll be able to choose Vinyl Black, free-of-charge.
